Genealogy, family history and archive research in East Anglia
My research will be tailor-made to suit your requirements. It is difficult to predict exactly how long any job will take. In the case of researching a surname, this will depend on whether the name is common or rare; in the case of researching one particular individual, it may depend on the details you provide. If you have a particular budget in mind, I will carry out as much research as possible within that.
The information below gives my charges and what you can expect to receive at the end of the project.
Archive searches £17 per hour
plus expenses, for example travelling, copies of original documents (£7 each for birth, marriage and death certificates).
Document transcription 5 pence per word
Consultation £20 - 1 hour (for your own research)
At the end of the project you will receive an A4 presentation folder containing:
. A4 family tree diagrams
. a final report detailing the results found and sources used
. copies of original documents which prove the research at every stage
. transcriptions of relevant census returns (it is not possible to provide copies of census images owing to Crown Copyright restrictions).
