Fallon Liverpool Gen
Specialising in Liverpool and Cheshire research, with over 30 years of experience.
My background in genealogy extends back until the early 1980s when I started researching mine and my wife's families and over the ensuing thirty years, I have become very knowledgable in tracing past generations, taking some of my branches back to the early 1500s, mainly in the Liverpool area and surrounding districts, and particularly in Cheshire.
Back to 1837: BMDs, UK censuses 1841-1911;
Prior to 1837 IGI parish records (used as a back up to parish records), old parish records either on-line or by ordered microfilm at the local LDS library,
Military records (available from MOD if service number is provided, or from a third party researcher at the National Archives if no number available but regiment is known), Chelsea Pensioner records. From these records medal entitlements can be found and replica medals obtained (full size usually about £12 each with ribbon).
Many wills are now available on-line, particularly those for Cheshire, and the early wills can be very interesting in terms of the vernacular and language used in the 1600s.
Actual cost of certificates obtained (presently £9.25 each), hourly rate of £15 per hour for research work, with initial search complimentary from original information provided. You can do as little or as much as you like depending on cost, with email advise provided weekly to you. You can cancel whenever you like and information at the time of cancellation will be provided.
What I do with information received:
Create a family tree using my PC software, print out simple ancestor charts (these can be expanded greatly dependent on your wishes). All documents copied with certificates, kept in snap binder with dividers.
What you get:
1 Copies of certificates and census records, location pictures related to census, area photographs when available (I have lots of originals particularly in Cheshire)
2 Above detail put into an indexed binder with cover sheet, simple graphic chart (2 to 3pp A4), and short history of Liverpool (8pp preliminary doc)
3 CD will be provided of all pictures, copies of wills ordered
4 Any replica medals ordered
5 A periodical gedcom file which you can import into family tree software (this will be updated and emailed regularly as new info is available
6 Your family tree uploaded onto Ancestry as a public tree (should you agree to this exposure). This enables others to see and match details and contact you
7 All of this information posted to you on completion
(2 to 7 above are subject to you committing to further research)
I find lists of dates and names not very interesting to those not obsessed with family history. If you are wishing to provide your family with interesting readable stories, I can create 'chapter stories' of each generation (see two example pages below), with information linked together with photos of individuals you can provide or locations which I can obtain, printout of census info, interesting extracts taken from wills, and copies of certificates, military information and other information. First generation mother and father chapter provided (between eight and ten A4 pages) at around £50, subject to quote based on information available – example pictures will be emailed on request. I have found this to be a popular way of providing the information to the younger generation and retaining their interest.
My software also will generate beautiful charts from the database (see two page examples below). Subject to quote based on the information required to be included.
Note re illustrations below: Full A4 size PDFs will be emailed free on request
