Stacy Siirilä Johnson is a professional genealogist who is a native of Ironwood, Michigan. She is presently working toward accreditation through the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists and is finishing her bachelor’s degree in history, with a minor in French, at Weber State University. Stacy also serves as a volunteer on the US/Canada floors at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
Stacy loves family history and while researching, she has discovered and visited her own relatives living in Finland. Currently her undergraduate studies include researching the Métis society in Wisconsin. Many of her classes focus on African American and Native American history. Along with her academic studies, Stacy attends seminars and conferences with in-depth training on research in several areas of the United States.
Stacy is proficient at researching the entire United States and also has experience in Finland and Sweden. Her research specialties also include African American, American Indian, and French Canadian research.
When Stacy is not researching, she is spending time with her family. Some of her other interests include traveling, exercising (swimming and resistance training), writing, scrap-booking, gardening, and music.
