Beacon Genealogical & Heraldic Research

Genealogist and Researcher in Archives
BEACON is a new venture, set up in 2006, aiming to help you with all aspects of genealogical and heraldic research.
BEACON is situated in the beautiful old market town of Baldock in Hertfordshire some forty miles north of London and about twenty miles south west of the world famous university city of Cambridge.
Baldock is located just off the A1 (the old Great North Road from London to Edinburgh) in rural North Hertfordshire. It was founded by the Knights Templar and thrived as a market town in the eighteenth and nineteenth century and was noted as a centre for the processing of malt for the brewing trade and at one time had three breweries and over twenty five hostelries where weary travellers could refresh themselves. Baldock was a noted coaching stop on the Great North Road, about one days travel from London and is famed for having the widest High Street in England around which are found a wonderful mixture of medieval, Georgian and Victorian buildings.
Our researchers, who have many years of research experience in the genealogical and heraldic fields can easily visit record offices and national repositories in London and the Home Counties, as well as throughout the UK by arrangement in the search for your ancestors.
