Jenny Potter researcher for south west England
Genealogical and historical researcher, and lecturer.
Many people from the south west left England in the 17th century to live in the New World. There are connections between these families of early settlers, on both sides of the Atlantic, and a surprising amount of material still exists which can tell us more about them. Much of this is in the form of original documents and is only available to personal researchers visiting the county archives. Over several years, I have researched a number of these early immigrant families, finding connections between them, so that it has become a personal interest as well as a professional speciality.
