Philadelphia Genealogical & Historical Research
Historical & Genealogical Research & Consulting for Philadelphia Families, Businesses,& Institutions
Previous research that you have done, or someone else done, can be combined with newly commissioned research or transformed alone into a finished family, business, institution, or organizational history. I have made an extensive study of the political, economic, social, and religious history of the Fishtown and Kensington communities and can place your family, business, institution, or organization, in its historical context. I can turn your notes, or manuscript, into a more readable and lively narrative. You can add whatever photos, documents, or maps, you like.
Work already compiled can be edited and proofread for both the style desired and for the genealogical material. I can provide assistance with your genealogical evidence that supports your argument, the significance of the evidence that you present, and the accuracy of your citations, as well as the proper formatting of those citations. Basic spelling and grammatical errors can also be corrected.
My fee for an hour's research is $40.00. Discounts are available for larger projects. For new customers the project fees are required before work is started. The fee includes research, reports, and analysis. Actual Cost of film rentals, photocopies, photographs, repository entrance fees (provided that I am not already a member and have free entry), long distance phone, postage and handling, travel (outside of Philadelphia) and other ordered or approved out-of-pocket expenses, will also be billed with receipts supplied. Balance in full is due before the final report will be sent to the Client. I do not charge for travel within the City of Philadelphia, but will charge for research done outside of Philadelphia. These charges will include; travel time, mileage [$0.44/mile], and tolls. At this point I accept payment in the form of checks, money orders, or PayPal, through which you can use credit cards if desired)
