Areas of expertise in African American and Native American Research
If you have been researching your African American or Native American ancestry and you are feeling frustrated, confused, or don't have the time or knowledge to do it yourself, then I can help you.
For those of you searching for your African American ancestors, you probably can trace your family back to at least 1870. But here is where most of you will hit that "brick wall", trying to find your ancestors during the slavery period. My specialty is locating the records that will help identify the slaveholder and the place where the plantation or small farm was located.
Native American research can be difficult as well. Our goal will be to identify your ancestor on one of the Indian census rolls. Locating your Cherokee, Choctaw, or Chickasaw family on the Dawes roll or your Chippewa, Ottawa, Huron, or Sioux ancestor on other Indian census rolls.
You can feel confident that I will do my best to search all records and sources for information on your family. I will send you a detailed report of my findings along with copies of all documents I am able to obtain.
