Services:
I offer minimal to extensive family history research on an hourly basis with flexibility to handle special situations on a case by case basis. My experience comes from previous research in the Midwest and Northeast with my area of specialty being Ohio.
Fees:
My research fees are based on an hourly work fee plus expenses incurred. I start with an initial retainer which includes 3 hours of research time. Throughout the process clients are updated on the progress and given options with costs for paths the research can take along the way.
All clients are offered a free consultation where I ask for a summary of the research previously done and what the ultimate goal of the current research they wish to do. After reviewing this information, a strategy is put together demonstrating ways to obtain their goal and how likely this would be. Only after this is agreed upon by both parties is the retainer required for the actual research to begin. I have found this process makes for more realistic expectations on both sides while giving the client better results in the end.
